Prince Sofunmade appointed as BDM for London
Ramping up their plans for the architectural sector, Bristol-based lighting manufacturer GDS are excited to announce the addition of Prince Sofunmade to their business development team. Heading up their London operation, Prince will be working closely with lighting designers, contractors and consultants to bolster GDS’s part in the industry with the solution-based approaches that GDS have built their reputation on.
Prince’s appointment marks the next phase of GDS 2019 plan to expand their pioneering lighting solutions outside of the entertainment industry and share their expertise, technical prowess and unrivalled service with the architectural sector too. Reflecting on the impact they’ve had on just one industry in the last fifteen years, it’s a logical step, and Prince agrees, “ I was attracted to the culture within GDS, and I love that they are looking to build a lighting dynasty and disrupt another industry with something new. We don’t make square peg lighting and try to make it fit, we want to create something unique for each client and we have a reputation for fulfilling beautiful lighting specifications for challenging projects that others find too difficult. Ultimately, we work hard to create the best lighting solution for our clients, and that always starts by working together to create one vision.”
Prince joins GDS with a great deal of industry experience having worked in sales for almost 10 years. His background includes work in the office sector, where he headed a team delivering serviced office spaces to businesses of all sizes, and more recently, Prince worked within ‘Save Money Cut Carbon’ where he played an active role in implementing effective strategies for businesses aiming to be compliant with this latest industry regulation. Prince’s background in energy-saving lighting and enthusiasm for collaborative working made him the ideal choice for this role, and he’s ready to get stuck in.
Prince says, ‘At GDS when we’re manufacturing our products, we’re always thinking about how the lighting should be experienced, and this is why working closely with our clients to understand their needs is so important, especially in the architectural arena as lighting can have such a profound effect on the feel of a space. I thrive on working with people and I’m most excited about working with different stakeholders and networking to get to know our current and future clients better.’
Working exclusively on the architectural side of the business, Prince will be working alongside the team in Bristol to build GDS presence in this new arena. He says, “GDS is already a great place to work, and my plan is to absorb the captivating culture here and take that energy out to our clients.”
James Hall, Head of Sales welcomed the addition of Prince, stating;
“Prince is an excellent addition to our team due to his great enthusiasm and his incredible breadth of personal and professional experience. I look forward to working alongside a highly motivated individual with a track record as a highly successful Senior Business Development Manager.”
